When people ask me what it takes to be a success in the motion graphics industry I always reply that one must have a passion. In this second episode of The Business of Motion we explore the importance of passion and how it can be your communication super power.

Discussion Summary
There are many aspects of communication that will build your business, but the most important of these can’t be learned. Why? Because you already have it inside you—passion! There are three reasons why passion is your communication super power:
- Passion sells you: it’s what buyers are attracted to at a gut level.
- Passion promotes you: it’s the ‘x-factor’ that makes you the easy choice.
- Passion energizes you: it’s the sparkplug for everything you do.
Given its importance to your performance, rather than passively observing that you have passion, treat it as you would any precious resource and do whatever you can to find it, fuel it and protect it.

Everything about this discussion is true! Unfortunately I am not doing what my passion is but this is going to change soon…I am in touch with my passion of Motion Graphics and Visual Effects on a daily basis by doing tutorials and creating MG & VE for my current job. I am looking forward for the next session.

I think passion is key for every industry, as it drives the most successful companies and people.

Until seven years ago I lived to work. I had a stable well paying job that required a learned skill set, but there was no creative imput required on my part. I was lucky to recognize my passion for motion graphics and all things CGI and in mid life dropped everything and started my freelance career. There were some lean years at the start and there were times when skill and passion were all I had going for me. I look back and thank my lucky stars that I made that fateful decision. I’ve never been happier. Follow your passion and you’ll work to live instead of living to work.

Great video. I’m a photographer by trade and just getting into film/motion work. It’s totally refueled my passion! Recognizing it, and sharing it, has helped me explore it and provided opportunities I wouldn’t have otherwise imagined. I’m currently working on a very satisfying, well-paying project, that I got simply as a result of showing passion.
I’ve found that most successful people, and the creative ones I want to be around, are always the most passionate about what they do.

Passion its like a motor how need to increase the intensity every time .
I found ways to focus my attention to passion every time i can But for sure there are a lot of people, and distraction that could blur out or decrease it.

Great discussion! Im now learning how passion can definitely sell you! I’ve just started at a small production house, but my bosses have seen how my passion is higher than those around me, who are just working for what they’re worth, in a sense.
But passion drives you to go that extra mile that you might not get paid for, but the doors in that company are opening up, connections are being made, and the right people are being impressed, and I can see a pay raise in the very near future!

WELL YES! IT COULD BE THE CASE WHERE CORPORATE EXTREME THINKING COULD CORRUPT THE CREATIVE SO MUCH THAT YOU BOSS THINS THE A 800 DOLLARS CAMERA OR EVEN 1000 CAN GET THE JOB DONE OF A RED CAMERA OR A CINEALTA AND BESIDES THAT MONEY BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAN QUALITY BUT THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE WHEN QUALITY IS NOT ON THE PLATE OFF THE SERVINGS, NOT EVEN IS PART OF THE MENU…. AND THAT AFFECTS YOUR REFERENCES DEEPS YOU IN TO A MEDIOCRE COMPANY AND ENVIRONMENT
