I recently used Red Giant Software’s new Holomatrix effect for Terminator: Salvation promo graphics. Watch out for a full post and tutorial.

I like this look a lot – If I remember right it even looks better than the original posters of the movie.

Must agree with first post regarding to linking sites.
The “shadowbox” may be nice for pictures or videos but not for external sites.
I’d rather link the old way. Firefox does usualy open new links in a new tab anyway.

I can wait for the tut!!
As far as the shadowbox/lightbox I think it is fine. I just watched that apple harvest spot then closed it, and now I’m posting this. I think it is a quick way to see what John finds interesting without leaving his site. You can also right click on the link and open in a new tab.

Good point Adam. I probably will have the Shadowbox removed for external links in any case. Best wishes, John.

I agree with the other negative posters about the lightbox outgoing links. They may look cool but their usability is crap. Plus, if I use the lightbox link to go to Red Giant the page displayed is all screwed up. The Red Giant displays with a black background rendering the text unreadable. Motionworks is the only site I visit that’s decided to use lightbox in this rather unorthodox way.

Thanks for the excellent feedback Kevin and all, I’ve not been happy with shadowboxing external links either and we are looking at changing this behaviour. Best wishes, John.
