Over the next few weeks I will be reviewing each and every entry to the Unplugged challenge. These will be short critiques where I will discuss what I believe are the strengths and areas for improvement. If any entrant would like to discuss their entry in more detail don’t hesitate to contact me. This time we look a the work of Hugo Goudswaard, David Kwasnik, Akseli Tuomivaara, Kevin Snyder and Brett Perry.

John you are so freakin’ generous – seriously. These critiques and those from everyone who have posted are very helpful and enlightening. Art is so subjective. Really fascinating to me to get insight into what – moves or doesn’t move – an individual. But as the politicains are fond of saying “at the end of the day” it’s vital that any artist in any medium be “true to themselves”. The help that you extend through these critiques and from your tutoring go miles in developing the skills necessary to be able to express that truth.
And you know what I’m going to say next – here it comes – rock on brother man!

John,
Thanks for the constructive critism. It really helps to have a professional evaluate your work. Sometimes you stare at something so long you miss the obvious faults as a designer. I guess that’s why no designer should be an island, and the reason that sites like Motionworks and features like Unplugged are so valued by us all. Congradulations to Robert Leger. You really did an excellent job as did all of the contestants. Thanks again, John
