Robert Leger’s Unplugged animation was recently chosen as the winner of the Unplugged Title Challenge. What is truly amazing is that Robert entered the Unplugged challenge with only 1 day left until the deadline. In the first Unplugged for 2010 Robert discusses his background, present work and of course the terrific title animation he created for Unplugged.

what a great interview, and a very nice choice of a winner!
p.s-i really wonder about that 2nd shot of the project, where you can see that the edges\outlines of the squared shape are white shaded [when they intersect\overlap with the shape itself].
hope that Robert will touch that part in the tutorial.

Thanks Danny, hopefully all will be revealed in Robert’s walkthrough. Best wishes, John.

Good talk – I’m always jealous(?) that’s not the right the word – “impressed” – IDK – that people from around the world can also speak english as fluently as they do. I can wrestle around with Spanish as a second language but I could barely give a lucid interview in my native tongue let alone another’s. Congratulations.
Liked what you said about a formal education – particualrly (and paraphrasing)- “books don’t talk back” – I could really do with some design theory – negative space – color – that sort of thing – but have such a mental resistance to the thought of – structured or what I am certainly misinterpreting as some sort of “formulaic” approach to creating ‘beautiful’ things that I would really need to sit and discuss it with a learned individual to get it through my thick skull.
Rock on!

I agree Jim, one of my goals is to get Ayato Fuji on Unplugged too, his English has really improved over the last few years since I met him in Tokyo. Best wishes, John.

Hey John,
I use to watch Unplugged on my ipod nano 4th gen, but with this one I have an issue: itunes says it can’t put it on my ipod because my ipod can’t play this type of file. What’s wrong? Thanks.

Hi Mauro, I’ll look into it, thanks for letting me know. Best wishes, John.

Hi John,
I’m an Interaction Designer but am new to Cinema 4D and stumbled on this site.
I just wanted to comment about the quality of this interview. I honestly think that this is one of the finest web based – web cam interviews I have ever seen. From the production, the questions, and how you presented it. Top notch. I think you have a real knack for the medium and keep up the great work. You could teach a thing or two to CNN, ABC, and the like.

Thanks Ron, that’s very kind. Best wishes, John.
