After Effects has been a way of life for me for the past 16 years and remains that way today, so it makes total sense to me to include it as one of my recommendations. I started using v3.1 in 1996 and knew instantly that I wanted to be a motion graphic artist. With CS5.5 After Effects is more powerful than ever and has grown to become the industry standard application for motion graphics and visual effects. If you’re serious about either of these then you must have it in your toolset.
